Some journo hack once labelled her 'The Voice of God' much to her embarassment and ire, being the shy private type that she is. Says 'This Mortal Coil' here, but it's Guthrie and Fraser a.k.a. The Cocteau Twins. This Mortal Coil was a somewhat impressive collective effort under the aegis of Ivo Watts-Russell's 4AD label. Thanks for posting this one. Oh yeah, This Mortal Coil. The song 'Kangaroo' used to be on my turntable alot. Can't really go wrong with anything on the 4AD label. |

Cross-threading to a post in the OOPE Guitar Players thread that has links to a couple of songs by Skylab. How to describe? Cinematic thematic rhythm-intense melodic metal. Could make good BGM for an EVE session. Maybe inter-relatedly because the guitarist is an EVE player. Show them some love y'all and give it a listen. Novembre, Agalloch, maybe hints of very old Tangerine Dream come to mind when I listen. Don't let the EVE player part throw you off-- it's serious well-produced music. |

Dom Arkaral wrote:X-Japan - Art of LifeSome Japanese metal, I love the contrast between full on metal and piano/ballad (idk if it's the right term). Makes for an original sounding song that you'd never hear in the occidental world Yeah, that one is a fine, fine beauty. Some background:
The classical pianist, speed drummer, and composer Yoshiki later performed before the Emperor. So before that, he was probably named a Living National Treasure in Japan.
The live performance on youtube sounds pretty much exactly like the studio version on CD. Yeah, imagine that. X number of replicating the exact same timing and tone together, on drums, percussion keys, and wires. The making the wires vibrate just the same again is especially unbelievable.
Anyway, going to give it a listen again!

Hmm..not convinced. I always felt like Minmatar would listen to old, dirty rock music like The Cramps. |

Alright, I screwed up the multi-embedded quotes, wanted to preserve, sorry about that. How about if sardonic Amarr aristocracy partying sounds something like this? "Regiment," Byrne & Eno Maybe home and neighborhood Amarr music sounds a little like this: "Persian Love Song," Holger Czukay
